A new obsession

I have, in the last few days, become slightly obsessed with making tiny pincushions. I bought a pack of adorable flower-topped pins (featured) for a fashion designer friend who recently celebrated a big birthday, and what better to give with them, I thought, than a pincushion!

I found the instructions here and have decided to add this feature to the pink and green one and give it to her with the pins. They are such a fun, quick and easy project to do of an evening, that I just had to make one for myself!

I'm trying to think of other people to make them for, otherwise I'm going to end up with a house full of them, but most of the crafty ladies in my life are knitters and I'm not sure knitters are too often in need of pins....

  3. you could make the pin cushions with hessian or other rough woven fabric, and your knitter friends could put their darning and tapestry needles into it? i'm sure they won't mind a few flower pins for prettiness!!
