New Beginnings

Happy New Year! 2010 has been good to me and I'm so looking forward to 2011. I have no real plans just yet for this year but my head is brimful of ambition and I'll have to stop and think awhile and take note of all I want to achieve and experience this year. Of course there'll be surprises too I'm sure... and I am eager for those too.

These last few days of the fading year have been full and fabulous! On the 30th, two dear friends of ours were wed. The day was misty and magical and the wedding was one of the best I've ever attended.
This couple are so perfect for each other and are so much in love, it was just beautiful to bear witness to their special day.
The whole day was infused with their infectiously fun personalities. The bride is a true creative and hand-made so many aspects of the day - from the invitations and menus (made from recycled 7" vinyl records), to the centrepieces on the tables (featuring over 400 Ferrero Rochet chocolates re-covered in silver foil!), and the bouquets (which I'm raging I didn't get a picture of, they were made of fabric flowers and oddments of costume jewellery - brooches, rings, earrings - you name it - they were really unique)
The cake bore testament to their mutual love of rock n' roll, as did the band, aptly named 'Till Death Do Us Party'. We danced. Oh, how we danced! (And when it was late, and our legs were tired, Devo and I sneaked away home for our first night without the girls since they were born in April.)
Favours - M&Ms with their names and FACES on them!
Today, as the new year dawns, the newlyweds embark not only on their new life together, but on a cruise in the Carribean! I wish them all the best in the world for an amazing future together.
