A Winner and a Wannabe Winner

I'm back from New York, where I had The. Best. Time. Ever. I'm dying to tell you all about it but my first order of business is to talk about winners. Well, one actual winner and one wannabe-winner (me).

First of all, I'd like to announce that the winner of The Fairy Force Book is: SHEILA POLLARD

Spotted in New York: A Fairy Door, complete with graffiti!
Well done, Sheila!! Please contact me at wherewishescomefrom [at] gmail [dot] com with your postal address and I'll pop it in the post for you. I hope you enjoy the book as much as we did.

Secondly, I'm absolutely thrilled to announce that I've made it onto the finalist list of the First ever Irish Parenting Blog Awards in no less than THREE categories. (See my new badge over there >>>>)

I'm in the final five blogs in the;
and in the final twelve in the:

I was in New York when the lists were to be announced and I had Devo tormented all day to find places with free WiFi so I could keep an eye out for it. It was actually back at the apartment when I finally got to catch up and I nearly fell off my seat when I realised I had made it through.

The level of talent amongst the Irish Parenting Bloggers is incredible and the shortlist was almost cruelly short, so I had not held out very much hope of making it. Though I was shocked and delighted to make it through in the Most Beautiful and Best Homespun categories, I'm probably most surprised about making the list for Best Blogpost. The quality of writing in that category is unbelievable and the longlist was a treasure trove of stories that made me laugh, cry and become insanely jealous at the level of writing talent some people have.

There are too many favourites to list here but please take a look at the longlist yourself as I'm positive you'll find something new to read that you'll just love.

I'm very much looking forward to the big night on Saturday night now and busy planning which dress to squeeze my USA-expanded frame into...

There was a lot of this kind of thing... but more on that soon...

Good luck to all my fellow bloggers, I can't wait to party with you all on Saturday!
